I'll swap you a prick for a prickle...

A little jaunty quarterly update for y'all xx

Spring hath finally sprung'th, hoorah-lelujah! And as I began to unfurl from my hermitic hibernation, dust off the dark nights, I somehow rolled into a prickle of a (job)position!!!

...do let me explain...

So... err... to start, I'll get to the conclusion - I am still taking a tattoo hiatus... all tattooing bookings are still on pause, and I won’t think about taking on any new clients/designs until the end of this year (still on the lookout for a nice little studio to work from - do hit me up!) I will post another update about tattoo appointments for around October/November time. I do believe I have good reason for postponing the tattooing this year, please don't hate me, but a bunch of feathers, fluffies and prickles in need of help have tempted me away.

For the next 6 months I will be working at Oak and Furrows Wildlife Rescue Centre, helping the amazing RSPCA team during their busy summer season. This is *literally* my dream job and I am beyond thrilled to have been given this opportunity. I've had a couple of weeks training so far, and it still feels insanely surreal that instead of human clients, I now attend to wildlife patients... my favourites so far being the Hedgehogs in hydrotherapy, Eagle Owl dinner times, Buzzard maintenance and medication, Pigeon physical therapy and Fox Cub club (watching the whiny little stinkies at bottle feed time)... so I hope y'all can understand why I couldn't refuse xx

The art work, paintings and drawings are still in action but have taken a little back seat. I've been veeeery slowly working on a few things - funny how all my art projects for this year are British wildlife inspired, and now I find myself up close and personal with the little darlings... a very thorough and hands-on research from life! I guess this year’s theme is turning out to be Wild Life.... I never ever expected an opportunity to work with animals like this to come about for me... it really is a wild life!!

So for the time being I have replaced my needle pricks for cute prickles... my brushes and pencils for syringes and swabs... and although a monu-mental amount of training and bloomin' hard work has befallen my lap, I couldn't be happier!

I hope spring hath sprung'th some delights for you too, and may your summer blossom brightly xx

I will keep y'all updated as always xx Love Nic xx
