Bugs and Butterflies Collection

Original paintings, prints and cards inspired by British bees, bugs and butterflies.

The Bugs & Butterflies collections are a celebration of the smaller side of wildlife.  From childhood favourites like ladybirds, caterpillars, bees and butterflies, to the little less-loved bugs, beetles and spiders, these tiny lives are a delight to study and paint. 

I create focused collections around particular bugs, bees and butterflies, but I also love to add them as little guest appearances in other paintings; either tucked into flowers, resting on leaves, or bringing a small, secret story to the scene. With many insects in decline, this collection is a way of celebrating the creatures we grew up noticing as children and perhaps less often as adults. I take pleasure in sharing a little of their colour, curiosity and charm with you, for you to enjoy at home.
