Kingfisher Studies
My aim with these small studies was to explore the kingfisher’s form and structure, experimenting with its colours and playing with the warm and cool blue-toned feathers off against the orange plumage. I wanted to use light to define the bird’s form, giving it the same striking presence it has in real life.

Each work is a one-of-a-kind original, part of a series of ten, working towards a larger series of kingfisher paintings to be released later this year.

Open with care and handle your artwork with clean, dry hands and avoid touching the painted surface. Ideally use cotton gloves for added safety.
Keep your artwork away from direct sunlight and moisture, strong heat sources and sudden temperature changes.
If framing, use good quality materials and UV-protective glazing where possible.
Dust the frame gently with a soft, dry microfiber cloth. Do not use water, cleaners, or solvents on the artwork.

With simple care, your painting will retain its colour, surface and character for years to come.

Independent wildlife rescue centres do an extraordinary amount of work, often with limited funding and constant operational demands. Their work is not only caring for injured, orphaned or vulnerable animals; it is also about the running of the centre itself, supporting and training staff and volunteers, managing supplies and keeping everything operational with each seasonal demand.

Having spent time working with a local wildlife rescue I know from direct experience how much care and commitment this takes. Supporting these centres is one small way my artwork can give something back to the wildlife, habitats and people who continue to inspire it.
