This expressive bluebell painting is painted in bold, thick and layered oil strokes creating a sense of light, warmth and springtime vibes.
I love painting flowers, and I’m especially drawn to the bluebells of West Woods each spring. The best time to visit is at sunset, when the woodland becomes saturated with colour, as light filters through the beech trees and glistens through the forest. In this painting I wanted to capture the luminous lime green of the beech leaves set against the powdery violet-blue of the bluebells, with a warm notalgia-feeling glow.
