Blue Tits with Cherry Blossom
On my walks, I nearly always see blue tits in pairs or small groups, so it feels wrong to paint them as solitary birds. They are TINY, and constantly bobbing about between the branches, making them incredibly difficult to study, but their presence is undeniable. So much personality and sass. These two small Blue Tit paintings begin an exploration of their relationships with one another and with their environment. I enjoy playing with a variety of blossom colours to bring out the unmistakeable blues and yellows of their plumage, an idea I plan to develop through a larger series, so do keep checking back for more additions.

Open with care and handle your artwork with clean, dry hands and avoid touching the painted surface. Ideally use cotton gloves for added safety.
Keep your artwork away from direct sunlight and moisture, strong heat sources and sudden temperature changes.
If framing, use good quality materials and UV-protective glazing where possible.
Dust the frame gently with a soft, dry microfiber cloth. Do not use water, cleaners, or solvents on the artwork.

With simple care, your painting will retain its colour, surface and character for years to come.

Independent wildlife rescue centres do an extraordinary amount of work, often with limited funding and constant operational demands. Their work is not only caring for injured, orphaned or vulnerable animals; it is also about the running of the centre itself, supporting and training staff and volunteers, managing supplies and keeping everything operational with each seasonal demand.

Having spent time working with a local wildlife rescue I know from direct experience how much care and commitment this takes. Supporting these centres is one small way my artwork can give something back to the wildlife, habitats and people who continue to inspire it.
