Back to work with new work and showing it all off...

Golly, it’s been a little while since I last posted here. I’ve been squirreled away at my home studio having had a very creative 2025 thus far. There's been a lot of painting, painting and more painting and now I finally get to share some of what I’ve been working on (from the dinky little ones to much bigger and bolder pieces!)

This weekend I’ll be taking part in the Swindon Open Studios art event , showing my latest paintings - and a few pieces that haven’t been seen before. You’ll find me at:

Great Moorleaze Farm, The Marsh, Wanborough, SN4 0SW

Open Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st September, 12–7pm.

The farm is a perfect location to showcase my work, being a nature nerd and all that! It is a stunning spot to spend the afternoon; with geese and ducks wandering about the pond and a few cheeky baby goats to entertain you, all with refreshments to hand and enjoy. The venue is fully wheelchair accessible. We've also got a raffle running, with the chance to win artwoks and prints from the artists showing their work with all proceeds donated to Prospect Hospice. If you’ve been curious about what I’ve been up to, this is the perfect chance to come by, see the my new/old artworks in person, and come and have a chat with us all. Especially me, as I can't remember what it's like talking to humans having been tucked away painting with the cats all year. Meow.

Tattooing

The delighful Miss Maud showing off the artworks I am giving away for the Raffle prizes xx (Maud excluded from the winnings, she's my little prize xx)

A little side note — tattooing will also be opening back up for me. I’ll be taking appointments again for clients old/new from November, with bookings open from October. Since I only work two days a week, spaces go quickly, so if you’d like to get something booked, it’s worth reaching out early. Please get in touch via the 'contact me' page or email me on: hello@nicolakingart.co.uk

I’m looking forward to reconnecting, sharing new work, and hopefully seeing some of you this weekend at Open Studios.

MUCH LOVE xx Nic xx

About SOS:

Swindon Open Studios is a community-based art event which started informally with a few artists inviting family and friends over and sending them on to visit other local artists. Artists from Swindon and surrounding areas invite the public into their studios, homes, and pop-up exhibitions over the last two weekends in September each year. The first SOS event was more than 20 years ago, but it ran alternate years at the beginning. In 2004, there were 53 participating artists, but in 2025, the number has more than doubled to circa 140 artists at 57 different venues!
